●My Rentals is a new account
feature which displays customer-friendly rental information.
○My Rentals is accessed from the
Account page and displays general rental information, rental periods, and fee
details.
○Bibliographic data of textbooks
will also be displayed for rentals when it exists in RatexNet.
ENHANCEMENTS
Bronto Marketing Integration
●Additional product information can
now be sent to Bronto. This product information is sent in the other parameter and can include the
following:
○Product type: Textbook, GeneralMerchandise
○Condition: Used, New
○Textbook type (textbooks only): EBook, Rental
Courselist Builder
●An issue displaying book short
descriptions in the booklist has been fixed.
○Previously, it was possible for a
book’s description to incorrectly show as blank when HTML comments (example: <!-- … -->) were used in the
description.
Entities (Product Groupings)
●New size and color messaging
allows shoppers to tell at a glance whether a product has customization options
available from an Entity page.
○Messaging will display differently
depending on whether the product has sizes to choose from, colors, or both
sizes and colors.
○Messaging can be adjusted using
three new String Resources (Prompts): edition.entity.product.hassizesandcolors, edition.entity.product.hassizes,
and edition.entity.product.hascolors.
○Please see Entity Pages: Size & Color Availabilityhere
●Fixed an issue where some entity
pages could not be viewed when browsed to.
○Entities can be “children” of other
entities, allowing for grouping and subgrouping of products. Prior to this
release, unpublished “parent” entities would cause their children entities to
act as unpublished. It was not possible to browse to a still-published child
whose parent was unpublished.
○This has been changed so that a
published entity can be accessed even if it is a child of an unpublished
parent.
My Transactions
●Line items on the My Transactions
page are now grouped by shipment, when shipment information is available from
RatexNet.
Site Administration
The Administration “About” page has been
cleaned up.
●An old “DotFeed” warning was
removed.
●An outdated EULA link was also
removed.
Orders
●Fixed an issue where switching
from a PayPal payment option to a different payment option could prevent
checkout completion in some circumstances.
●Fixed an issue where the order
confirmation email was not being sent for shipping methods with ampersands, &, such as Shipping & Handling.
Order History
●The Order History section of the
Account page now displays a barcode for shipments which have been processed in
VR.
○The barcode acts as a scannable
shipment number.
Performance
●Site performance has been improved
for sites which use PayPal or Amazon Payments payment methods.
●Improved performance for sites
using Gift Cards.
Preorders
●Fixed an issue where a recurring
order could cause a preorder processing to fail.
●Fixed an issue where new users who
created accounts while placing their preorders would have the associated course
and material information deleted from the preorder after it was placed.
Pricing
●Fixed an issue where the subtotal
shown by the minicart was sometimes incorrect.
○This is just a visual fix and the
issue did not affect the actual price of the items at checkout.
Products
●Fixed an issue where product pages
could not be viewed by some signed-in accounts.
○This issue only affected certain
legacy accounts which were configured to use an older version of the site’s
skin.
●The variant selector dropdown,
which shows for product pages with selectable variants, now grays out disabled
(out-of-stock) variants rather than presenting them as a selectable option.
●Improved how images are displayed
for products with variants.
○Previously, there were some image
configurations which could cause the incorrect image to display based on the
selected variant.
Promotions
●Products are now configurable to
ignore promotions which would normally target them.
○A new option,“Exclude
from Promotions”, can be configured for each product from the Product
Administration page.
○When configuring a
product-specific promotion a warning will display if one or more of the
products affected are configured to ignore promotions.
●Discount shipping promotions which
use “fixed” discounts now apply the fixed shipping discount even if some of the
cart items do not meet the requirements for that discount.
○This change does not apply to
“percentage” shipping discounts. Percentage discounts will not target carts
with a mix of promotion-targeted items and non-promotion-targeted items.
●Enabling a Category Requirement
for a promotion now presents a new option: “Invalidate
Promotion if Any Item From an Excluded Category Is In the Cart”.
○For this option to take effect it
must be selected alongside option “Exclude
Selected Categories”. After these options are selected, the contents of a
cart will not qualify for the promotion if one of the items is from an
excluded category.
○This new option does not affect
order-level discounts.
●Promo Discounts with Minimum Cart
Subtotal Requirements now only consider items targeted by the promotion as
counting towards the subtotal requirement.
○Prior to this change the full
value of the cart could count towards the subtotal promotion even if the cart
included non-targeted products.
●Promo Requirement “E-Mail Address Requirement” now supports
a much larger list of email addresses.
○The .csv file import option should be used to quickly import a large
list of emails.
●A new Promo Discount is
available:“Discount Least Expensive Items”.
○This promotion allows for Buy X Get Y-style and Discount On X Or More-style promotions.
Some example promotions are:
■“Buy 2 Get 1 Free”
■“Buy 4, Receive $10.00 Off Each”
■“Buy 2, Get One For 20% Off”
○Discount Type can be Fixed or
Percentage.
○The number of eligible items to
discount is set with a new option: “Number
of Cart Items to Discount”.
○The number of items required for
eligibility is adjusted using a new option: “Number of Discountable Cart Items Required”.
Security
●jQuery has been updated to version 3.5.1 in
order to address a theoretical security exploit.
○No action is needed for this
update: it has already been applied to eRatex sites prior to the release of
eRatex 1.17.
Settings added to eRATEX 1.17
