eRatex supports asynchronous e-commerce tracking using the Universal Google Analytics tag (analytics.js).
eRatex supports both Ecommerce Tracking and the Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin for analytics.js.
Google Analytics in eRatex allows you to make
modifications to the Google Analytics code without modifying core source code.
Google Analytics General Setup
The following Configuration must be complete to enable any sort of Google Analytics support.
Configuration
First you will need your Google Analytics account number. You can find this code by logging into your Google
Analytics account. The interface on Google Analytics changes frequently but you should find the number on the page
where you get your tracking script. Copy the UA-xxxxxxxx-x number from this page.
Once you've got the UA number, navigate to your admin console and add the account number to the Setting: Google.AnalyticsAccount.
Lastly, make sure that the Setting: UseLiveTransactions
is set to Yes. This setting ensures that Google Analytics only runs on your live website.
At this point you have completed the installation of Google Analytics. You should be able to view page source on the
front end of your website and see the Google Analytics code.
Ecommerce Tracking
Please note that the choice to use Ecommerce Tracking or the Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin will change which Settings you
use. This section will go over how to use Ecommerce Tracking.
First, login to your Google Analytics account and enable e-commerce tracking. The interface tends to change, but look
under ADMIN(tab) > View > Ecommerce Settings. Enable Ecommerce must be set
to true and Enable Enhanced Ecommerce must be set to false.
Next, log in to the eRatex admin console and set the Settings:Google.EcomOrderTrackingEnabledto
Yes and Google.EnhancedEcommerce.Enabledto
No. Please note that these two settings should never both be Yes: they should only
be enabled one at a time depending on which analytics feature you are using.
That's it! At this point your site will send order data up to Google Analytics when your customers check out.
Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin
The Enhanced Ecommerce Official Plugin may be used instead of Ecommerce Tracking. Please note that you must
choose which option to use: it is not possible to use both Ecommerce Tracking and the Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin at
the same time.
First, login to your Google Analytics account and enable Enhanced Ecommerce tracking. The interface tends to change,
but look under ADMIN(tab) > View > Ecommerce Settings. Both Enable Ecommerce
and Enable Enhanced Ecommerce must be set to true.
Next, log in to the eRatex admin console and set the Settings:Google.EcomOrderTrackingEnabledto
No and Google.EnhancedEcommerce.Enabledto
Yes. Please note that these two settings should never both be Yes: they should
only be enabled one at a time depending on which analytics feature you are using.
Finally, please make sure that Vortx.DataLayer.Enabledis set to Yes.
This setting can also be enabled independently from Enhanced Ecommerce to supply data to other plugins.
Optionally, you may also set Google.EnhancedEcommerce.ImpressionClickTracking.Enabled to
Yes in order to enable tracking on the entity, search, and featured listing pages. It should be set to
No if you find enabling it interferes with the ordinary working on your site.
Supported XMLPackages
The following list of XMLPackages support Google Enhanced Ecommerce. Using Google Enhanced Ecommerce
with these packages will require your action if you are updating an existing site. Please see Updates and Your Store for tips on how to merge
this feature into your site. In this case, you will need to merge from the XMLPackages folder to your Skin's
XMLPackages folder if
you have customized any of these XMLPackages.
