Changing Taxes

Changes to taxes must be made both in VisualRATEX (VR) and in eRATEX.

Importing Tax Rates in eRATEX

 Tax rates are changed by importing tax rate files into eRATEX.

  1. Click Configuration > Zip Tax Rates > Zip Tax Rate Import.
  2. In Zip Tax File, click Browse. Navigate to the file you are importing.
  3. If the tax rate file has a header, select Ignore First Row.
  4. In Column Delimiter, type the character used to delimit columns and rows in the tax rate file. For example, if you are importing a CSV (comma separated values) file, ensure the Column Delimiter is , (comma).
  5. In Import for Country, select United States or Canada, as appropriate.
  6. Click Start Import.
 

Exporting Tax Ratex from eRATEX

Tax rates can be exported from eRATEX into a text file (file.txt).

 

  1. ​In From Zip Code, type the starting zip code.
  2. In To Zip Code, type the ending zip code.
  3. In Column Delimiter, type the character to use to delimit the columns.
  4. In Select Tax Class(es), select the tax classes to include in the export file. You can also click Select All to export all tax classes for the selected zip codes.
  5. Click Start Export.
