    Software Requirements

AspDotNetStorefront v10 requires the following 3rd party components:
    • .NET framework version 4.5.2 (versions 10.0.16+ require 4.7.2)
    • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 8.0 or higher
    • IIS URL Rewriter feature must be installed
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (Express versions are fine, but Express limits max memory utilized and total database size. AspDotNetStorefront will also operate successfully on SQL Server 2008 and 2012 but we have certified the security only on SQL Server 2014)
    • Approximately 120 MB hard drive space is required for the storefront files (this will increase as product images are added to the store)
    • AspDotNetStorefront v10 is certified for PCI on Windows 2012 R2. Note that the software may operate fine on newer servers, but will not be PCI certified out of the box. Certification will be your responsibility.

    Optional software for Developers:

    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 (or later) Professional, Premium, or Ultimate (only required to modify source code)
      (NOTE: V10.0.2+ require VS 2015+)

    Memory Requirements

The memory (RAM) requirements for software of this nature can be a very complex question. AspDotNetStorefront cannot provide a minimum recommendation, as what the software needs will vary hugely based on:
    • Server type (is this a dedicated server where the majority of the memory can go to your app, or a shared host where you only get a portion)
    • Number of products and entities on the site
    • Number of daily visitors
    • Number of concurrent visitors
    • Elements that you add to your page layouts (ad links, javascript tools, Flash videos, etc)
    • Much much more...

When evaluating potential hosting environments, it is very important that you have an idea of the answers to the questions above, and work with your host and IT manager to determine what is best for your particular needs.

AspDotNetStorefront provides shared, cloud, and dedicated hosting plans. Please contact us for more information.

    TLS

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that ensures privacy between communicating applications and their users on the Internet. When a server and client communicate, TLS ensures that no third party may eavesdrop or tamper with any message. TLS is the successor to the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

In 2015, the PCI Council released their findings about TLS and ruled that TLS 1.2 (a more modern and secure Security Layer) should be the model used by everyone by June 2016. They also asked that TLS 1.0 should be scourged from the face of the planet by 2018.

If you are using AspDotNetStorefront v10, then you are perfectly positioned. TLS 1.2 is the default security protocol for .Net 4.5+ and AspDotNetStorefront v10 is natively designed to run in that setting.
