The Advanced Search ( {yourdomain.com}/searchadv.aspx or {yourdomain.com}/search/advancedsearch if using MODERN URLs) checks all of the fields that the basic searchdoes, as well as the description and price if the customer chooses. Customers can also narrow their search criteria by product types and/or entity:
Configuration - Settings specific to Advanced Search:
SearchAdv_ShowCategoryIf TRUE, category filter appears on the advanced search page.
SearchAdv_ShowDistributor If TRUE, distributor filter appears on the advanced search page.
SearchAdv_ShowManufacturer If TRUE, manufacturer filter appears on the advanced search page.
SearchAdv_ShowPriceRangeIf TRUE, price range filter appears on the advanced search page.
SearchAdv_ShowProductType If TRUE, product type filter appears on the advanced search page.
SearchAdv_ShowSection If TRUE, section filter appears on the advanced search page.
Advanced Search can be used on your site 2 ways:
Control: You can have a knowledgeable developer create a control for the advanced search and include it in your template, replacing the basic search control.
Searchadv Page Link: You can link directly to the {yourdomain.com}/searchadv.aspx (or {yourdomain.com}/search/advancedsearch if using MODERN URLs) page from within the Topic: Template.TopNavigation
Additional Notes: Version 9410 introduced a new xml package based display for the Advanced Search (and the basic Search), selectable with the Settings: XmlPackage.SearchAdvPage and XmlPackage.SearchPage
